How good is your memory when it comes to the names of past bars? Over the years, there have been many that have come and gone. Now the question is what were the names and their location? Any past favorites? One local watering hole was the Club House. Before that it was called Three Bears I believe and now it’s called part of the Wendy’s parking lot. Anyone remember the Planet?.....

Sophies on Tuesday night was the place to be. I was in there once and someone threw a beer bottle and derailed the model train that used to go around the place up near the ceiling. Some freaks used to get it on in the old wooden phone booth that used to be in there.

Years ago Monday night was the Jason's night, that place used to jam.

The Safari Club was also a name before the CVS but I don't believe it lasted long though. Also, Kendricks was also the former Fiddlebees. Nikkis fell in line with Rascals in a way because all the people getting hit out front on Rte. 28. The name eventually changed to the GrapeVine in hopes of improving its reputation and then it burned down....

remember Guido Murphy's? ha ha i remember a time when someone got so friggin loaded in that place they stumbled out onto the street in front of a rental cop then put there hand over one eye to drive home. hmmm who was that light weight? also how about Handlebar Harry's, that was a good place to tank up... and finally there was the Approach in Wareham, a cool place to see bands back in the day from classic to death metal. not bad for the 80's and 90's.

just to help out the earlier comment, kendrick's was boat house before that it was fiddlbee's....damn im old ha ha ha.....but the all time best place to be and to be seen was GOOGFELLA"S god damn i miss that place what a good f**kin time it was there. thats just my opinion...

Your right, Sophies had a total makeover and was renamed Club Liquid and Goodfellas changed to the name Retro. Then once again, everything changed and Hooters eventually took over the layout of both bars.

Guido Murphy's...

Anyone else remember when Guido Murphy's re-opened as a pasties-n-thongs strip club, "Guido Murphy's Cabaret"? They had a buffet set up and brought girls up from Florida to staff it. It was only open a week before they shut Guido's down for good...best week ever!

Two of my old favorite bars in Hyannis..good ol' dirty Sophies..no place more fun. Totally tanked when they turned it into Fluid..and it's just a shame to see it's Hooters now. No place to go and have a good time in Hyannis anymore without being shoved into a place that should really just be a restaurant...

The Improper Bostonian was called Your Father's Moustache.......
and I used to Play Jason's across from Rum Runners (and there too, still do!), as well as The old Compass Lounge for Murph, and spent the last year of Guido Murphy's as the house band for Rayjay. Played to 1000+ one night on a July 3rd. Good times.......Man I'm f*%kin old!
